Thank you @dove for gifting me your Amplified Textures range to try! This range was designed for kinks, coils and curls with ingredients co-selected with black women, all with the aim of making “hair a positive experience of beauty.”
When I first went natural I wore twist-outs ALL the time – l was convinced I couldn’t achieve a wash and go on my texture. So when I finally did master wash & goes I did them almost all the time, to the point where I didn’t feel myself in any other style.
The beauty of having this page is that I’m often challenged to try new things – both product and style wise. On this occasion it was a return to an old love – the twist out – with a new range: @dove#AmplifiedTextures!
This whole range smells incredible – quite heavily scented but I loved it. The moisturising shampoo needed two rounds but left my hair feeling silky soft as well as clean. My favourite of the line was certainly the super slip conditioner because it did exactly what it said it would. I was able to detangle more easily than I imagined and didn’t need to deep condition! Once I rinsed the conditioner out I added the leave in and twist cream sparingly to chunky twists before heading out for a class…
I’ll admit I did try to do a wash & go at first, but I found all my go to gels curdled with these products so I rinsed them out and committed to twists. I added a bit more twisting cream and made my twists smaller for better definition.
The next day I took the twists down on the train and was in absolute awe at how smooth, defined and bouncy my hair was! It lasted through the snow, being put under a fluffy headband, and even a steam room with a simple re twist of a few sections… I have to say I’ve been impressed.
I’ve really enjoyed using these products and can’t wait for the rest of the line to drop in the UK (I’ve seen photos online of two gels that look great!)
I know some of this line is available @treasuretresspopupbecause I actually got some when I went a few weeks ago, and it’s also available @sephorauk
